Quartz Crystal is a clear variety of quartz that was first found high in the frozen mountains of the Alps. Ancient people believed it was a form of ice crystals that would never melt. It is said to have cooling powers and is a romantic stone. hmmmm woof woof that's pretty silly even I know that quartz is a crystal, I wonder if their were dogs back then?? Any hoo I love those Quartz triple wrap bracelet from Turchin Jewelry.

If given a turquoise by a loving friend, that stone would protect the wearer from negative energy and bring good fortune. Turquoise is the symbol of friendship. It also brings peace to the home, woof ...Howl give me some of that!!

Lapis lazuli is an ancient gem, and has a storied history. Egyptian cultures made a practice of burying a lapis lazuli scarab with their dead, and believed it to offer protection. WOOF the burying thing again what’s with ancient cultures woof and the dead stuff woof woof it creeps me out! But I do love this Lapis wrap bracelet above sooo chic!

Carnelian has a long and storied past, and was once considered strictly the property of the noble class. People holding a high social status were often buried with this gem stone. woof ewwww...yuyucky I only want to buried with my bone...or maybe this carnelian wrap bracelet above its super cool!

Ganesha Removes Those Nasty Obstacles

Howl....have you heard the Buddhist Ganesha Elephant represents removing obstacles.

An elephant's trunk has the strength to uproot a tree as well as the finesse to pick  up a needle.
Ganesha's trunk symbolises the fact that the wise person has both immense strength and fine discrimination. Ganesha has large ears. The wise person hears all.
He has four hands. In one hand he holds a lotus, the symbol of enlightenment. In the other hand he holds a hatchet. That is, the old karma, all your sankars (values), the accumulated good and bad of past deeds get cut when enlightenment comes.
The third hand holds laddus, the round sweet-meats. They are the rewards of a wise life.
Ganesha is never shown eating the laddus. The wise man never partakes of the rewards of his deeds. He is not attached to them. The fourth hand is shown blessing the people. The wise man wishes the best for everyone.
Woof Woof I think I was an Elephant in another life!
Love and Kindness to you all

Compassion hands

During my Soul searching and travels I came upon the word Compassion a lot…WOOF so I began to ask around and found some interesting meanings for this woof…woof powerful word!

From the dictionary compassion means to recognize the suffering of others, then take action to help.
I asked Author Fredrick Buechner, he describes the meaning of compassion in these words: "Compassion is sometimes the fatal capacity for feeling what it is like to live inside somebody else's skin. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too." Ahh wow how deep is that woof… woof… my skin would be pretty itchy for most people to get into but be my guest…woof!

Then when I was in Ireland I asked U2 lead singer Bono, he explains that the meaning of compassion for people is to focus on those in need… ok I am beginning to understand this compassion thing.

The Bible defines the meaning of compassion in several ways. We are to "speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves … defend the rights of the poor and needy" (Proverbs 31:8-9, NIV). We do this by taking action instead of just talking about helping others!!!

I Love Compassion Dear friends help me woof…woof.. and let us show some compassion every day that way it can become a habit, an amazing habit that can generate so much good throughout the world…woof…I need a bone now I got so excited!

Till next time

The Most POWERFUL Stone in the UNIVERSE

All hail the KING of gemstones
Rubies are said to bring about peace and can help ward off bad dreams, when placed under your pillow. They may be worn in jewelry, but never close to the solar plexus, as the Ruby can bring feelings of anxiety or worry. Worn the right places can be very beneficial, like wearing a ruby ring on your left hand for protection.

Given as a gift, the ruby is a symbol of friendship and love. It is also the symbol of vitality and royalty. Rubies are known to aid the flow of blood and circulation. Feeling sick? Did you know rubies can actually cleanse and remove infections or germs in the blood? How great is that?!

Promoting Healing or Fulfilling Desires with: Mala Beads

diamond eyed dragon bracelet
made with Tibetan mala beads made
from yak bone

Mala beads - those strings of beads you see wrapped around peoples wrists or subtly tucked under their collars. You've seen them in other Eastern practices such as on Buddhist monks, but what are they? What do they really represent?

On a mala, or set of mantra counting beads, there are generally 108 beads. The question often arises: Why are there 108 beads on a mala? there are quite a few meanings -- I'll just list a few:

Desires: There are said to be 108 earthly desires in mortals.

Lies: There are said to be 108 lies that humans tell.

Delusions: There are said to be 108 human delusions or forms of ignorance.

Heart Chakra: The chakras are the intersections of energy lines, and there are said to be a total of 108 energy lines converging to form the heart chakra. One of them, sushumna, leads to the crown chakra, and is said to be the path to self-realization.

Goddess names: There are said to be 108 Indian goddess names.

1, 0, and 8: Some say that the number 1 stands for God or higher Truth, the number 0 stands for emptiness or completeness in spiritual practice, and the number 8 stands for infinity or eternity.

Feeling Sick? Wear Some Coral

Records dating back thousands of years confirm that coral was used in decorative art objects. It was believed to prevent ill fortune and protection from skin disease when worn as a necklace. And even dreams about coral are believed to foretell recovery from a long illness.

Coral is a good aid for meditation or visualization. It symbolizes life and blood force energy. Dark red coral is used for heating and stimulating the bloodstream. Pink shades restore harmony to the heart. It is used as an aid to depression, lethargy or deficient nutrition.

So where can you find this natural healer? Coral can be found in the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Australia, the South Pacific, the waters of Japan, Africa and right here at Turchin Jewelry. :)

Stress + Crystals = Calm Mind?

A raw amethyst
A raw Aquamarine
Crystals and Gemstones have amazing healing properties. For example, Amethyst is well known for dissolving negative energy against stress and nightmares, and is also said to be good for headaches, eyes, scalp, and hair. Aquamarine is a stone of courage. It's calming energies reduce stress and quiet the mind, and it was also carried by sailors as a talisman against drowning. Cool right? And the best part is Turchin Jewelry has them both!
